Student Support Worker

**Purpose of the job**:To work within the Student Support Team under the supervision of the Education Team Leaders, covering all aspects of personal care and lunchtime support & activities. Assist students in those areas of daily living in which they are dependent i.e. washing and dressing, assisting with meal and break times and meeting personal hygiene needs.

Livability Victoria School is a school for students aged 3-19 with primarily physical and medical needs and associated learning difficulties in Poole, Dorset. We also cater for a number of students with Autistic spectrum conditions. We are a fully inclusive and integrated school that inspires and creates a wonderfully calm and nurturing environment to help prepare students for their bright futures.

The post holder will mostly be repsonsibe for attending to students personal care needs, this can include, social health, mental, physical hygeine, first aid, welfare matters, communication and mobility. You will assist in daily duties throughout the school such as Lunchtimes, this can include set-up and pack down of dining tables, chairs and ensuring students sit at the correct tables.

Ideally you will have experience of working with children either in a special school or within an educational support setting. Additional knowledge of sensory integration and further communication skills such as, Makaton, would be an advantage.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £17,000.00-£21,000.00 per year
