An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Receptionist with relevant experience to join our busy expanding Private General Practice. We are seeking to appoint a confident, motivated individual with initiative and outstanding communications skills face to face and over the telephone, to provide support within our reception and medical teams.
Flexibility is a must as we are a small team and need to be able to cover holiday/sickness.

The Hove Practice opened in September 2019 and in just over 3 years, we have grown rapidly. All of the members in our team pride themselves in excellent teamwork and a job well done.
**Main Purpose of Job**:
**Responsibilities**:
Welcome patient and visitors to the Practice, both in person or on the telephone. Answering or referring enquiries promptly, with enthusiasm and with the utmost professionalism.
Excellent customer service skills.
Scheduling appointments, accurately maintaining patient records and accounts.
Maintaining and updating spreadsheets.
Keeping patient appointments on schedule, by notifying the GP of their arrival, monitoring their time management, and communicating to both parties of any anticipated delays to schedule.
Maintain an empathetic demeanour by anticipating patient anxieties, answering their questions, and comforting them when needed.
Assist patients who are in distress by responding to their needs and emergencies promptly and sympathetically.
Protect patient rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Qualifications_
- English/Maths GCSE Level C or equivalent.
- A demonstrable commitment to professional development.
- Intermediate level Microsoft Office.
- Experience_
- Experience of working in a public reception environment, ideally Medical.
- Experience of Microsoft Office software.
- Experience of dealing with the public and/or patients.
- Experience of telephone operations.
- Experience of computerised clinical systems.
- Experience in working in primary care
- Knowledge/Skills_
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Excellent keyboard and computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Qualities/Attributes_
- An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality.
- Ability to use own judgment, resourcefulness and common sense.
- Ability to work without direct supervision and determine own workload priorities.
- Ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team.

**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: £12.30 per hour

Schedule:
- 2-6 hour shifts
- Day/evening shift
- Weekdays, Saturdays and Bank Holidays

The health and safety of our staff is paramount.
**Education**:
- GCSE or equivalent (required)
**Experience**:
- Medical Receptionist: 1 year (desirable) or experience in a customer-service role eg. Hospitality / Travel industry
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.30 per hour
Expected hours: 14 - 17 per week
