Production Team Leader

Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor you shall assist in ensuring the smooth flow of production through the manufacturing line to meet on-time deliveries in the most effective manner.
**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Leading a team
- Maintaining a strict high standard of Health & Safety at all times.
- Maintaining a strict quality standard within the workshop.
- Reporting and Logging Maintenance breakdowns.
- Achieving production Takt time targets.
- Ensuring all recuts are kitted and delivered within the deadlines set out.
- Workload being planned and prepared in advance.
- Identify the needs of your team and train existing and new team members
- Identify production concerns and communicate same to Production Supervisor
- Productivity, pursuing continuous improvement and problem solving opportunities
**Experience & Qualifications**:
- Significant production experience gained in a highly pressured manufacturing environment
- Ideally you should have previous supervisory or people management experience
- Must have a good working knowledge of steel fabrication, machine parts and steel processing
- Have an understanding of lean manufacturing, JIT, continuous improvement techniques
- Good communication skills and have the ability to work in a pressurised environment,
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and be able to adapt to changing priorities and goals
- We require a flexible/adaptable, results focused individual with the energy, drive and commitment to make it happen
- Computer literate and experience of Oracle/ERP systems would be advantageous
