We need a brilliant **Head of Smart Rollout & Policy **to help us get where we’re going. You’ll oversee the governance of the smart programme, ensuring any risks and opportunities associated with our installation performance are managed efficiently and with sufficient oversight of our internal stakeholders. Your expertise will shape smart policy decisions, enhancing our customers' experience and driving ongoing initiatives to improve performance. **Key Accountabilities**: - Develop and implement effective governance frameworks and policies for our smart metering program, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. - Monitor and analyse industry regulatory and policy developments, staying abreast of changes and proactively adjusting our strategy. - Act as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders, coordinating meetings with HM Government and OFGEM, and providing accurate and influential responses to their requests. - Responding to RFI’s and co-ordinating content and key messages for bilateral meetings - Owning our annual reporting collating data and performance from across the wider Centrica business - Foster strong relationships with regulators, industry stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, collaborating to drive successful smart metering initiatives. - Assess the impact of policy changes on the smart metering program and recommend appropriate actions to ensure continued success. - Develop and execute a stakeholder engagement plan to ensure all relevant parties are well-informed and engaged throughout the process. - Monitor and report on smart metering governance and policy performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. - Represent the Smart Programme on internal program boards, meeting regulatory targets and providing necessary updates. **To thrive in this role**, you must possess substantial experience in governance and policy management within the energy industry or related fields. A solid understanding of smart metering, energy policy, and regulatory frameworks is essential. **Key Competencies**: - Demonstrated experience in a regulated environment and a comprehensive understanding of the smart metering framework. - Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, effectively influencing them. - Develop "trusted advisor" relationships with key business leaders, offering valuable insights and guidance. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to various stakeholders, including senior management. - Promote collaborative working by fostering open, honest, and productive stakeholder engagement. - Identify and articulate risks and opportunities for smart delivery, enabling informed decision-making. - Possess a confident and independent mindset, raising issues appropriately when required. - Strong stakeholder management skills at all levels and the ability to work independently or collaboratively to deliver results within tight deadlines.
