We are currently recruiting a number of Learning Support workers to work ad-hoc (with temp to perm potential) at an independent specialist day college in Wrexham.

The school provides support and care for young people aged 16 to 25 years. As a dedicated team of staff, you would help provide every young person with an individually tailored programme of education, care, work experience, leisure and life skills and training within the community to enable them to live as independently as possible and make their own life choices.

**Overview**:

- Title: Learning Support Workers
- Pay: £11.20 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) 8 hours a day
- Location: Wrexham
- Hours: Ad Hoc, Short Term and Long Term - Monday to Friday 830 am - 430 pm

**The role: What you’ll be doing as a Learning Support Worker**
- Supporting and supervising learners with ASD, PDA, Global delay Disorder or Challenging Behaviour
- Assisting learners at the start of the college day and when leaving at the end of the day
- Assisting staff members in preparing the classroom for a lesson
- Working with learners in small groups and or working 1:1 with pupils' additional needs
- Support the class tutor in the delivery of the lessons
- Assist learners at break time with their lunch
- Engage learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities
- At least 3 months experience of working with children in a college or within the care sector
- experience working with learners with ALN would be beneficial
- References covering the last two years (no gaps)
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
- The right to work in the UK

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 20-32 per week

Pay: £11.20 per hour
