**IT Systems Development Engineer**

Full Time, Permanent

Bedford

**Hours**:Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm.

**Salary**:Up to £40,000
- Our client in Bedford is seeking an IT Systems Development Engineer. The purpose of this position is to lead on and continuously improve the day to day running of ICT facilities and support the ICT Services and Innovations Manager with the strategicdevelopment of our IT infrastructure._

**Duties, including but not limited to**:

- To identify, investigate and resolve technical and systems access incidents across ICT server.
- Ensure consistent documentation of all development and technical projects/Systems and follow departmental backup, virus protection and security procedures.
- Maintain and test IT security and backup strategies whilst assisting with the formulation, implementation and testing of technical business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency.
- To deal independently with tasks, projects and workload, escalating when appropriate.
- To enhance the IT services function by suggesting new policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all allocated tasks and procedures are carried out effectively and efficiently to current documented standards and agreed levels of service.
- To review and fix security vulnerabilities and to have responsibility for update management, including regular Infrastructure Firmware and Software updates.

**Skills /Qualifications / Experience (essential)**:

- GCSE grades A-C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
- Relevant Microsoft or Industry recognised qualification(s) in the support of Server and/or Network Infrastructure.
- At least 2 Year’s occupational experience in an ICT support role.
- Experience in Operating System builds.
- Experience in Microsoft Server Technologies; including but not limited to Active Directory, Group Policy, System Centre, Exchange, SQL Server, DNS, DHCP and IIS at an installation, configuration or support level.
- Experience in Microsoft Intune MDM, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and VMWare Virtual Server Infrastructure.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Office 365 Technologies.
- Good working knowledge of server/firewall hardware and the secure configuration.
