**Job Summary**
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The primary purpose is to provide support to a Vision Support Officer (VSO) within their role, duties will include general admin, guiding and driving with full access to a car.

**Duties**
- Support VSO with general admin, sighted guiding and travel to client’s homes.
- Assist VSO while completing client assessments in the Vision Support Centre.
- Proof reading of records of client visits and maintain client confidentiality at all times.
- Support with demonstration of Aids and Equipment
- Support with referrals to outside agencies e.g. Adult Social Care, Low Vision Service etc.
- Undertake mandatory training as required.
- Implement Vision Support Barrow & District policies and procedures.

**Essential**
- Excellent verbal, written and ICT communication skills
- Excellent people skills
- Organised and ability to follow direction and offer support
- A valid driving license is required with unrestricted use of a car.
- A clean Disclosure & Barring Service Check will be required
- Good time management skills

**Desirable**
- Knowledge of visual impairment
- Knowledge of Assistance Technology
- Experience of being in a support worker role

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £17,657.12 per year

Expected hours: 26 per week

Work days:

- Monday to Friday

**Education**:

- A-Level or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Administrative: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (required)
