**Job Title: Holiday Club Coordinator**
**Location**: The Enabled Centre, St Helens Street Derby DE1 3GY
**Hours**: 30 hours per week - 9.00-3.30 Monday-Friday during school holidays except Christmas and bank holidays
**Contract**: permanent
**Salary**: £12.85 per hour
**Reports to**: Enabled Centre Management, Senior Management, CEO, Board of trustees
**About Us**:
Bright Futures runs a supportive and inclusive SEND Holiday Club designed for young people aged 12-16 and 17-25. Our mission is to create a fun, engaging, and safe environment where all participants can explore activities, build friendships, and develop life skills — all while receiving the support they need to thrive.
**Job Purpose**:
To support young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a holiday club setting, promoting independence, confidence, and enjoyment through structured activities and personalised care.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to participants aged 12-16 and 17-25, depending on individual needs
- Lead or support inclusive activities such as arts and crafts, music, games, cooking, and outdoor sessions
- Encourage the development of social, communication, and life skills appropriate to each age group
- Work closely with families, support staff, and external professionals to follow individual all about me plan
- Ensure safeguarding and health & safety standards are consistently met
- Help create a positive, respectful, and empowering atmosphere for all attendees
- Complete relevant documentation, including risk assessments, incident logs, and progress notes
**Person Specification**:
**Essential**:
- Experience supporting children or young adults with SEND
- Ability to engage effectively with both teenagers and young adults, understanding their differing needs and interests
- Caring, patient, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to support with personal care if required
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable young people
- Flexibility to work during school holidays
- Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check (if not already held)
**Desirable**:
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare, Youth Work, Health and Social Care, or related field
- Experience supporting individuals with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, or complex needs
- Understanding of Makaton, PECS, or other communication systems
- First Aid or Manual Handling training
