Warehouse Operative

We are currently looking to hire Warehouse Operatives to work on nights at our warehouse based at Waverley Railway Station. As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for accepting deliveries from suppliers, ensuring goods received correspond to delivery notes and to quality specifications. You will be looking after stock control and order picking from fridges and freezers. Additionally, you will also be responsible for the cleaning of all crockery, cutlery & carts returned from trains. The relevant training will be provided to you upon your commencement of employment.

**Job Summary**:
Consistently deliver first-class service to the customer's requirements according to the contract within the areas of responsibility and function listed below.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensuring working practices comply with GG Food Safety principles.
- Adopting safe working practices by adhering to Health & Safety guidelines and GG policies and procedures in all areas.
- Ensuring that working processes are complied with, in line with the contract specification and requirements.
- Ensure that own and employee's behaviour and conduct meet the needs of the business.

**Tray Setting**
- Ensuring correct quantities of trays are prepared as per train orders.
- Checking the quality of equipment being used and replacing where necessary.
- Reporting any shortfalls in equipment to the relevant Supervisor/Team Leader.

**Deliveries**
- Checking goods received against Purchase Order and Delivery note for quality, quantity, and timeliness.
- Maintaining compliant storage of goods and stock rotation any discrepancies to be notified.
- Any non-conforming goods shall be reported immediately to an appropriate staff member before accepting delivery.

**Scheduled Order / Ad hoc Order assembly**
- Assembling orders as per customer specification.
- Ensuring all products and equipment used conform with the management of Food Safety and Customer specifications.
- Delivering orders to the train side as required using either a POET truck or a manual barrow.
- Taking customer top-up orders over the phone.

**Mobile Equipment / Containers Safety and Hygiene check**
- Examining all trolleys for preventative maintenance status, cleanliness and damage and ensure relevant paperwork is completed.
- Completing POET truck safety checks before use.
- Reporting all defective equipment to the SCSTL or the Service Centre Manager.
- Recording all actual scheduled and unscheduled services in the Daily Operations Log.

**Returns and Recycled**
- Ensuring the return of customer products and equipment at the end of the trip.
- Recycling re-usable customer products and equipment and completing all relevant documentation.

**Disposal of non-conforming products (Waste)**
- Identify all non-conforming customer and company products for disposal, ensuring that stock rotation minimises wastage.
- Completing all relevant customer and company documentation as required.

**Hygiene Routines**
- Assist in maintaining a hygienic and tidy work environment by cleaning and tidying duties.

**Stocktaking**
- Carrying out stock counts as required.
- Protecting the company and customers assets.

**Computer Input**
- Assisting in computer input of customer orders.
- Drivers (may include use of electric or pump operated vehicles).

**Education**:
Three passes at GCSE O Level (grade C or above)

**Work Experience**:
Industry experience preferred but not essential (warehouse pick and pack, catering, and logistics)

**Technical Skills**:(Certification, Licenses and Registration)

MS Office

Excellent English and numeracy skills
