**Job Title: Direct Customer Property Claims Handler**
**Location: Gloucester - Hybrid**

**Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday**

**About the role**:
As a **Claims Handler**, you will be responsible for helping customers when they need us most - from first notification to final settlement, you will be responsible for supporting and guiding them through the process, which involves both looking for the very best solution for their needs as well as be able to empathetically communicate where cover does not exist. You will be their first and main point of contact throughout, handle multiple claims at once and work in partnership with expert suppliers, it is therefore imperative that you are organised, deliver exceptional customer service, have great attention to detail and are able to communicate at all levels with confidence.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- To provide first-class advice and support to existing customers, ensuring their property insurance claim is managed attentively through the claims management process to ensure they receive a first class, efficient service
- To review and resolve more complex claims cases to finalise claims settlements, to ensure a fair customer outcome is delivered, in line with limits of authority and performance metrics
- Delivering exceptional levels of customer care through your claim handling to ensure business is retained and developed year on yea
- To develop and build strong relationships with internal colleagues across the business, to ensure the smooth processing of claims and that customer expectations are met and exceeded upon
- To manage the day to day relationships with customers in a time effective and efficient way, whilst ensuring that expectations are managed and promises are delivered on in a timely and accurate manner
- To embrace technology
- always looking for ways to enhance the service we provide and how we handle claims
**Knowledge, skills and experience**:
- People who can demonstrate the drive and can-do attitude required, to provide a fantastic customer experience to our existing customers
- Be a confident & effective communicator, both written and verbal
- A proficient IT user with good interpersonal skills and communication skills is essential
- Enjoy problem solving and working as part of small team with a positive can-do attitude
- Be prompt, reliable and trustworthy
- Be organised and able to work to deadlines as required
- Have the ability to manage your own workload and prioritise accordingly
- The ability to learn new systems, products, processes and skills
