Jefferson Wells are recruiting for a global leader in defence technology to recruit a Legal Counsel to join their legal & IP team to deliver legal advice & services to the business as required by the demands of the team. You will be working with a variety ofbusiness units, including air & space, Maritime & Land and Cyber & Information, as well as supply chain & procurement.

Your role will be to provide strategic legal counsel & advice covering a range of issues such as commercial contract & law, disputes and compliance & regulatory issues to name a few. You will benefit from extensive training and an opportunity to developyour expertise by working closely with senior members of the legal & IP team. There will also be an opportunity to work closely with Employment & M&A matters and will get to develop your skill-set with a development plan.

What will I be doing?
- Reviewing, drafting, advising and supporting on negotiation for technology & commercial contracts, standard contracts, IP & Software licenses and agency and distribution agreements.
- Managing legal risk across a broad range of legal matters

What are we looking for?
- UK or Commonwealth qualified Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent qualification (Post qualification experience preferred)
- Experience in a legal practice or in house, with a focus on commercial & contract law
- Experience in drafting & negotiating technology related contracts and transactions

We will also consider a legal graduate with a solid grounding in commercial law and well-developed drafting & negotiating skills. You will also need to be confident building client relationships and have experience of carrying out legal research and doingdue diligence.
