**Job Summary**
To support the day-to-day accounting duties, ensuring the accurate processing of financial transactions, and maintaining up-to-date financial records.

**Duties**
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Process purchase ledger and sales ledger invoices.
- Bank reconciliations and posting of cash transactions.
- Maintain accurate records in the accounting system (Syspro).
- Assist with supplier and customer queries in a timely manner.
- Cross-check invoices, authorize payments, and manage expense claims.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Support the Management Accountant in ad-hoc finance tasks and projects.
- Assist in audit preparation and respond to auditor queries.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.

This job description shall not limit your role, you will also be expected to carry out any other duties that your Manager feels are within your capabilities and skill set.

**Skills Required**:

- AAT qualification or working towards an accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW) is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills with the ability to tackle difficult situations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confidence to work independently and/or as part of a team.

**Knowledge Required**
**- **1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (experience with Syspro is desired but not essential).

**Other**:

- Committed and enthusiastic individual who strives to succeed and deliver excellent customer experience in line with company values.
- Monday to Friday, 7.30am-4pm.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £26,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
