Alexander Steele Recruitment are delighted to be working with a innovative business who want to redefine how people think about food and they are looking for an experienced Food Scientist to join their growing team.

This exciting business are building a product for the next era of plant based foods where taste, convenience, health, and sustainability are at the core. As a Food Scientist you will be responsible for pioneering solutions to meal preparation and presentationmeant for the world as it is today. The business is on a mission to lay the foundation for the future of food consumption.

The position will be based out of the R&D hub in London and this is also the base for global projects.

**Objectives and responsibilities of the role**:

- Develop foods using techniques available with the businesses advanced technology
- Prepare samples using appropriate methods for sample processing, extraction, and clean-up
- Instrumental analyses using established methods and techniques.
- Be aware of and follow the appropriate quality assurance and safety procedures.
- Support Team Manager with project management and business development.
- Contribute to and / or write customer reports
- Report results within deadlines to accreditation standards.
- Contribute to the development of new methods
- We are looking for an individual who is passionate about the science and who thrives when given freedom to experiment
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Science
- Experience in food R&D is beneficial
- A passion for food taste and safety is at the forefront
- Ability to learn and implement new laboratory techniques and effectively troubleshoot.
- Self-motivated with proven leadership skills with an ability to lead and develop good working relationships with colleagues in the team and the business
- A methodical approach to work and attention to detail.
- Good IT skills and the ability to use of bespoke software to a high level.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects.

Our client is paying £35,000 to £45,000 depending on experience. Working Monday to Friday
