Would you like to be involved in delivering and supporting IT Solutions that make a difference to our customers?

If so, the Informatics service is looking for a full time positive and enthusiastic Junior IT Support Officer to join our dynamic Service Desk team. Supporting across BCU you will provide operational support across a range of IT System Solutions providing the training and support of IT skills, system solutions, coordination of training activities and involvement with implementations.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

This post is fixed term for 24 months due to meet the needs of the service

**Your Key responsibilities include**:

- Working with service desk team taking support calls and providing support to users
- Analyses and investigates user problems, some of which are complex, and where necessary discusses options for resolution with Support Officers and communicates the resolution
- Analyses and investigates on possible solutions for requirements within their portfolio of responsibilities
- Assisting the management team to ensure the systems within their remit are run efficiently and effectively and that appropriate disaster recovery plans are in place.
- Provide assistance to support officers and senior support officers when required.

**Essential Criteria Includes**:

- Educated to GCSE level / equivalent level of work experience and knowledge
- Knowledge of one or more business systems
- A broad range of ICT skills
- Experience of working in a large and complex organisation
- Experience in the support of software solutions
- Participation in change management
- Knowledge and appreciation of the capabilities and limitations of IT
