**Head of Group Reporting | Greater Manchester | 12 month FTC | £120k - £140k**

Marks Sattin are delighted to be working with a leading brand who are looking for a talented Head of Group Reporting to join their team. This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead a team of qualified and part-qualified accountants, providing guidance, support and mentorship to ensure their professional growth and the effective execution of their responsibilities.
- Ensure consistent preparation of group financial accounts, maintaining high standards of accuracy and completeness.
- Provide technical support and expertise to the group, offering guidance on complex accounting issues and assisting in decision-making processes.
- Manage the group reporting timetable, meticulously monitoring deadlines and ensuring their timely completion.
- Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, coordinating audit processes and addressing any inquiries or concerns that arise.
- Develop and maintain group accounting policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Establish and enforce robust financial reporting controls for a PLC, minimizing risks and enhancing accuracy and reliability.
- Take the lead on group accounting matters, including the implementation and adherence to IFRS 16 guidelines.
- Contribute to strategic financial planning, collaborating with senior management to drive informed decision-making.

**About you**
- Ideally, a background in a Big 4 accounting firm, with extensive training and exposure to complex financial reporting requirements.
- Strong knowledge and experience in working with IFRS and GAAP, keeping up-to-date with changes and developments in accounting standards.
- Previous experience working for a listed business (FTSE 100) preferably with exposure to consolidation at the group level.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve exceptional results.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Professional accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) are essential.
