**PROCUREMENT CATEGORY BUYER**

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Category Buyer to join our Central Procurement and Contracts Team. This role can be based from either our Birmingham, Leeds or Glasgow Office.

**Role Overview**

The Central Procurement and Contracts (CPC) team combines procurement and legal contract expertise working together to support the firm in its sourcing, contracting and management of 3rd party suppliers, both in the UK and other jurisdictions where the firmhas a presence.

The team operates a centre lead approach working with representatives across the various business functions (referred to as the 'buying community') using established policies, procedures and work practices to provide a 'best practice' approach to sourcing,contracting and supply management.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Category Buyer to join the team based in either Birmingham / Leeds / Glasgow.
- To work alongside the Procurement Category Managers in driving a category management approach across the firm.
- Providing general procurement support across all indirect category areas i.e. Facilities, HR, IT, Marketing, Professional Services.
- Lead tenders and negotiations to deliver best commercial terms and mitigate risk.
- To support the development of contract management and supplier relationship management.
- To support the analysis of supplier spend and identify areas for improvement.
- To provide a high quality of service to internal customers.
- Work with suppliers to ensure the firm gains best value from its supplier relationships.
- To support the development of the buying community and processes and polices to support the sourcing and contract process.
- To support the rollout to new buying areas (International offices).
- 3 to 5 years equivalent procurement experience ideally with CIPS to at least Level 4.
- Experience in developing and implementing category strategies across at least one of the relevant categories.
- Strong and proven negotiating skills.
- Commercial awareness with evidence of cost saving achievements.
- An understanding of contract terms.
- Experience in using e-procurement tools and / or contract management systems.
- The ability to persuade and influence.
- Good communications skills, both orally and in writing.
- Good numeracy and financial analytical skills (Excel / Power BI).
