1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Supply Role

**Location: Durham Contract: Supply / Flexible (Day-to-Day or Short-Term) Working Hours: Full School Day (Monday to Friday - as required) Start Date: 01.09.2025**

Are you a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for a dedicated 1:1 SEND TA to work on a supply basis, offering personalised support to pupils in inclusive, supportive school environments.

Whether you're seeking flexible day-to-day work or short-term placements, this role gives you the opportunity to make a lasting difference in a child’s education and wellbeing.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND, ensuring their individual needs are met
- Implement learning strategies and behaviour plans tailored to the pupil
- Foster a positive, safe, and encouraging environment for learning
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support progress and wellbeing
- Adapt resources and instructions to make learning accessible
- Promote social and emotional development alongside academic support
- Maintain clear records of progress, behaviour, and incidents where needed
- Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and professional conduct

**What We’re Looking For**:

- Experience working 1:1 with children with SEND (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech & language needs, SEMH)
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of EHCPs and inclusive strategies (desirable)
- A valid DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and eligibility to work in the UK
- Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, Autism Awareness) are a bonus

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary

Pay: £103.00-£115.00 per day

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
