**Overview**
**Duties**
- Recruitment and retention of volunteer drivers
- Devise and deliver a rolling program of driver training
- Maintain a working knowledge of regulations relating to Section 19 Permits and community transport legislation
- Ensure accurate record keeping of driver’s details using Optimise data capture system.
- Ensure accurate recording of vehicle checks to ensure they are constantly compliant with the regulations to provide this service.
- Maintain the vehicle maintenance and service checks with SJP and GM Coachworks to keep vehicles in a state of good repair.
- Co-ordination of voluntary car transport service. Ensuring eligibility of service user and suitability of driver and vehicle.
- Ensure client confidentiality observed and adhere to GDPR
- Maintain effective communication between clients and drivers.
- Assisting drivers on the road with queries and issues
- Ensure accurate recording of data for BSOG reporting.
- Ensure Fuel Genie Cards are up to date and in place on vehicles.
- Ensure blue badges and permits are in date and in place on all TASS vehicles.
- Maintain First Aid kits on all vehicles.
- Co-ordinate the fleet maintenance operative workload
- Ensure accurate recording of mileage for invoicing group members.
- Utilise IT systems and software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook to manage data and generate reports
- Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining service quality
- Lead initiatives to improve transportation efficiency and effectiveness
- Address any issues or delays in transportation promptly, providing solutions as necessary.
**General**
- To work alongside the other members of the TASS team, always ensuring an employee presence during working hours. Working out holiday/absence periods to ensure adequate cover for the organisation.
- To be prepared to perform such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post.
- To deal with the public on a day-to-day basis, to be always civil and helpful. To be of smart appearance.
- To be prepared to undertake training that TASS considers would be beneficial.
- To work in accordance with TASS’s policies and procedures.
**Requirements**:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential.
- An understanding of Optimise community service booking software highly desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to demonstrate professional qualities when coordinating with team members and external partners.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Previous experience in transport or voluntary car services would be advantageous but not required.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £11.62 per hour
Expected hours: 21 per week
