We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Credit Control Officer to join our Finance Team at Orchard Care Homes.
Salary - £23,000
Location - Mix of work from home and office working
**The role**:
As our Credit Control Officer you will recover any outstanding balances in a timely and appropriate fashion using all forms of communication.
Building relationships with key stakeholders including home managers and administrators and local authority contacts
Managing a high volume of resident accounts
Monitor the aged debt to identify doubtful accounts and action appropriately to maximise collections
Ensure billing ceases at the appropriate time and cash is collected on deceased accounts while maintaining sympathetic and professional communication
Ensure that we have registered our claim for any monies due in the event of death and pursue all avenues of recovery
Report on all late arrears cases.
Record comprehensive diary notes to maintain a detailed log of all actions taken and to be taken and ensure followed up at the appropriate time
Resolving ad-hoc queries
Liaise and maintain relationships with 3 rd party suppliers (solicitors) as well as preparing appropriate cases for referral
Processing card payments and assisting with the posting of cheques as and when required
Actioning the rejected direct debit report
Provide cover for sales ledger when required
Identify changes in the regulatory and market environment and develop and adapt internal credit control processes as required
**About you**:
As the Credit Control Officer you will have;
High standard of written and verbal communication
Ability to demonstrate empathy and consideration when dealing with elderly residents and their representatives
Experience working in a credit control environment
High attention to detail with good investigative skills
Ability to work accurately and consistently within the deadlines required.
Working knowledge of Sage 200 and Cold Harbour (preferred)
Knowledge of probate process (preferred)
Knowledge of care industry (preferred)
Excellent teamwork, organisation and communication skills
