We have a fantastic opportunity for a Biochemist - Pharmaceuticals to work at a GMP Pharmaceutical facility in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork, Ireland. This is a permanent position.
The primary purpose of the Biochemist - Pharmaceuticals is to work as part of a laboratory-based team undertaking a range of biochemical analysis of biopharmaceutical samples, within a state-of-the-art biopharmaceutical manufacturing site. You'll work ina collaborative, laboratory based team.
Key Responsibilities of the Biochemist - Pharmaceuticals will include;
- Perform analytical and/or biochemical tests according to international pharmacopeial, regulatory and corporate standards in a timely and organised manner.
- Generate data, review and interpret results for product release and stability.
- Contribute to proper use, calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Perform investigations, where required, for deviations, Out-of-Specification Results.
- Independently write/revise SOP's or other official documentation and reports, when required.
- Train other analysts and new personnel as requested.
- To identify and communicate areas for improvement or optimisation to improve efficiencies and cost savings.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications needed for the Biochemist - Pharmaceuticals position;
- A bachelor's degree or Masters Qualification in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or a related field with knowledge of analytics and/or stability testing
- Some working experience in a laboratory environment is preferred.
- A good basic knowledge of some of the following techniques - SEC-HPLC, RP-HPLC, Capillary SDS, Capillary IEF, UV, MDI, SoloVPE. A knowledge of Protein Science is an advantage.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment
- Experience with LIMS systems is desirable
- High attention to detail
- Analytical skills to troubleshoot laboratory issues are an asset
- GMP experience in a laboratory environment
- Good team player
- Good communication skills both internally and externally
