**Objective of the function**
- Operate plant and equipment to ensure products are processed on time to meet production schedules and satisfy customer’s requirements. Ensure that the Facility consistently meets and strives to exceed its targets in safety, health and environmental issues, quality and costs. Working 24/7 shift basis.

**Responsibilities/Duties**
- Work on written and verbal instructions from the supervision/management
- Carry out tasks in accordance with Sterigenics UK Quality Procedures at all times
- Support other Operators
- Aid in the investigation of deficiencies and problems, and suggest action to prevent reoccurrence
- Report any damage to plant, equipment or the fabric of the building, however caused
- Report any equipment malfunction or potentially hazardous situation
- Operate process control and product transfer systems
- Carry out movement of customers’ product using a forklift truck and pallet trucks
- Carry out plant cleaning requirements as stated in schedules and keep all warehouses and processing areas free of rubbish/obstructions
- Wear personal protective clothing and equipment issued by the Company as instructed and training in accordance with safe operating procedures
- Ensure the continued running of the plant by providing cover during periods of absence (eg holidays, sickness and training) by working a reasonable amount of overtime
- Work in a safe manner at all times having due regard for own and others safety
- Undertake any other duties deemed necessary by a member of supervision/management

**Requirements**:
**Knowledge/Education and Training**:

- Good general education, including numeracy and literacy
- Valid forklift truck licences
- Basic knowledge of computers
- Understanding of the operation of mechanical equipment

**Experience**:

- Experience of operating automated production processes

**Skills**:

- Good organizational skills
- Works well under pressure and remains calm
- Accurate with an eye for detail
- Confident
- Safety conscious
- Commitment to quality

**Special Requirements**:

- Must be able to work shifts
- Fit and in good health
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 22 kilograms
- Must be able to perform repetitive bending and lifting motions over a period of time
- Willing to undergo Background Checks including CRB Check (Criminal Records Bureau)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £28,308.00 per year
