Carpenter Job Description

Working from our base in Cannock you will be expected to travel to any of our job sites to carry out works. These entail, but are not limited to:

- Measuring, marking up, cutting, shaping, fitting, and finishing a range of timber-based materials.
- Manipulating wood and timber, for example planing wood.
- Proficient use of a range of hand and power tools.
- First & Second Fix Carpentry including roofing.
- Installing various timber features such as frames, walls, and partitions.
- Fitting interior features such as kitchens, staircases, doors, skirting boards, and cupboards.
- Drawing and working with technical drawings and plans.
- Working in residential, commercial, and historic buildings.
- If required, carry out work outdoors in all weather and at height.
- Using equipment and tools effectively to perform construction tasks.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to use, repair and maintain Carpentry machines and tools.
- Have a knowledge of building and construction practices.
- Have the patience to be thorough and pay attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal communication skills to talk to clients and report to the office during daily works.
- A valid CSCS card for most on-site Carpentry jobs.
- A valid enhanced DBS certificate.
- Knowledge of different types of wood and their uses.
- Be able to interpret technical specifications and diagrams.
- Following the above, be able to calculate materials requirements.
- Previous experience as a carpenter/joiner.
