**Microbiology Technician / Biology/Microbiology Graduate**

**Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: £22,000

**Hours**: Days (Mon - Friday - Friday short days) and a part - time (20hours) role available too

**The Role**:

- Microbiological testing of finished products and work in progress manufactured on site.
- Microbiological testing of bought in finished products where necessary.
- SAL support process, including reporting and metrics.
- Sterile batch release/ Use of JDE to hold and release codes.
- Sampling (for both chemistry and microbiology labs).
- Prioritisation of workload for self and other technicians.
- Liaising with other departments regarding priority release.
- General lab duties (glassware washing, housekeeping, culture collection, growth promotion testing etc).
- Use of Excel to prepare performance metrics and reports..
- Tracking and trending of data.
- Support/cover for raw material testing, environmental monitoring.
- Development and validation of test methods.
- Documentation reviews and updates; document control, records management.
- Training of other technicians.
- Non-routine testing as required, including report preparation.
- Investigations of NCR's as required
- Health and safety representative for the laboratory
- Calibration of Equipment
- Comply with site Health and Safety procedures.

**The Person**:

- Will hold a Degree in a relevant - Scientific/ Micro based discipline
- Will have experience in basic Microbiological tests (bacteria tests, sterility, plate streaking etc)
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, willing to learn and complete the necessary laboratory housekeeping tasks.
