The Digital Innovation Director is a key organizational position which partners with colleagues across all Franchises, Functions, Divisions and external channels to drive implementation of pioneering digital technologies. The Digital Innovation Directorplays an essential role in driving Global Drug Developments digital agenda by catalyzing and leading digital projects to bring them to life.

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Drive initiatives and partnerships related to digital technologies in clinical development (e.g., protocol design, AI based analytics). Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) pilot programs to evaluate disruptive technologies

Ensure the successful adoption and scale-up of digital technologies across GDD as well as develop and nurture relationships with other Development functions and external partners to ensure the expansion of solutions/ innovation across the Development portfolio.

Lead cross-functional project teams and task forces of multidisciplinary experts across varying areas of technological proficiency ensuring the assessment / execution of digital projects.

Identify unmet needs and opportunities where digital solutions can positively impact GDD assets and operations and develop new or improved processes to increase efficiency and quality of deliverables.

Develop and manage new processes where no process or precedent exists, while maintaining compliance with current regulations (both internal and external).

Provides strategic planning and input for communication and coordination of GDD D&D activities throughout GDD, other Divisions, and through external channels/PR/Media.

Proactively manage risk, including assessment of impact on clinical operations and development of mitigation plans. Communicates program progress / issues horizontally and vertically in an open and timely manner

Collaborates with the Global Head of Data & Digital, Digital Program Heads and Head of Operations and Digital Transformation in preparation of organizational recommendations, business cases, financial forecasts and updates for senior management and organizationalleadership teams

Minimum requirements

What youll bring to the role:
Graduate degree or equivalent in life sciences (or MBA with bachelors degree, or equivalent experience in life science). Fluent English (oral and written).

10+ years industry experience with 5+ years or equivalent multi-/cross-functional leadership experience

Excellent understanding and direct relevant experience with digital technology and Pharmaceutical development. Expert knowledge in drug development/clinical operations

Direct experience developing, launching and leading functions within a complex matrix environment. Advanced project / program management skills

Experience presenting/speaking at a senior management level with a proven track record of effectively communicating complex initiatives

Successful track record of problem-solving and navigating uncharted territory without clear precedent.

Strong leadership presence and experience interacting at executive levels with the ability to bridge gaps between scientific, technical and business participants

Previous track record of success in working with and leading large scale and complex international and multidisciplinary teams

Desirable requirements:
Strength demonstrated in strategic decision making, scenario evaluation and contingency planning

Ability to effectively develop robust business proposals for presentation to key stakeholders in Finance and GDD line functions
