Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Buyer to join our Procurement department on a permanent basis. The role will be based at either Alton Towers Resort, Staffordshire, or the Merlin Technical Hub at Thorpe Park Resort, Chertsey, with a strong hybrid element for those looking for more flexibility.

The Buyer efficiently sources, negotiates, and procures materials, goods, and services essential for the company’s operations. This role ensures timely delivery of quality products at competitive prices through robust supplier relationships.
- ** Source and Procure**: Acquire necessary materials, goods, and services.
- ** Supplier Relationships**: Build and maintain strong supplier connections for timely, quality, and cost-effective deliveries.
- ** Evaluate and Negotiate**: Assess suppliers on price, quality, and speed, negotiating favorable contracts and terms.
- ** Inventory Management**: Monitor stock levels to meet operational demands.
- ** Internal Collaboration**: Work with internal teams to understand and support their purchasing needs.
- ** Market Analysis**: Analyse market trends and supplier performance for cost savings and process improvements.
- ** Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
- ** Industry Insight**: Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and market developments.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Proven experience working in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management roles.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience working with procurement software.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
