**About the role**

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a
** Storeman **to join our Plant and Fleet team.

**Role Purpose**:

- Assisting in the day to day running of a busy stores environment
- Keeping work areas clean
- Loading and unloading of deliveries
- Dealing with site indents & requests for parts and consumables.
- Stock despatch and receiving in of goods
- Replenishment of stores to maintain a satisfactory quantity of stock
- Regular stores stock checks to maintain accurate count

**What you'll be doing**
As a Storeman** **you will:

- Follow company/manufacturers policies and procedures
- Always follow the Balfour Beatty 4 Golden Rules;
- Ensure the workplace is kept clean and tidy at all times;
- Ensure relevant task briefings have been carried out prior to tasks undertaken;
- On taking instructions, if unsure always question and learn;
- To ensure the works are carried out in the most efficient and safe manner;
- Demonstrate positive attitude and behaviour towards safety and others;
- Report all near misses, hazards or observations via the hotline and to the Supervisor.
- Have an active involvement in creating and updating procedures as required;
- Notify the Chargehand of any matters that affect the progress of works (including breakdowns & damages, etc.);
- Ensure maintenance/inspection checks are carried out, reports are correctly completed on time and submitted;
- Make sure the quality and quantity of work produced is at required levels;
- Responsible for own quality control for work carried out;
- Be pro-active and think ahead by working closely with Chargehands & Supervisors;
- Actively & positively participate in Daily Activity Briefings and all relevant team briefings;
- Good understanding and knowledge of different processes and equipment;
- Be prepared to work overtime/flexible on breaks as required;
- Demonstrate the Balfour Beatty Behaviours (6 E’s);
- On taking instructions, if unsure always question and learn;
- Ability to lead by example;

- Have previous Stores experience
- Current Driving Licence.
