National Star’s job coaches support a wide range of students, preparing them for the world of work by building their confidence, improving their employability skills and helping them to decide where their future career aspirations lie. They also use their networking skills to broker future work placement opportunities with a range of employers from small independent businesses to large multi-nationals and high street retailers.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Job Coach to work across our Work Outcomes programmes.

You will have responsibility for ensuring quality processes and procedures are followed and that information systems are kept updated. You will join our experienced team, working to develop and deliver work outcomes that achieve the best results for individual students on Work Outcomes programmes, which include Supported Internships, Traineeships, General Work and Adult Employability programmes.

You will deliver work-based workshops, building and assessing skills and knowledge for sustainable employment. The role will require you to job carve, work with Systematic Instruction Training and other employability models to enhance skill development.

The role is full time (37hrs) 52 weeks per year to ensure support available for students outside of term time and to to maintain service to learners on 52 week programmes.

If you’re positive and passionate about empowering young people with disabilities, then you’re exactly who we’re looking for. You will ideally have experience of working with people who have learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities and may already be working as a job coach. Previous experience of line management is preferred as you will be required to line manage members of the job coaching team, supporting development, mentoring staff and contributing to performance management.

There are no limits to your career possibilities. Some of our former job coaches have eventually moved into teaching roles with us.
