Night Warden
This is an ideal role for someone who wants to: - work in high season up to 2.5 hours a night for up to 4 nights a week (Mon, Tue, Wed, Sat and some other days) - lives within 10 minutes walk (ideally) of Willowbank Holiday Park at Ainsdale (PR8 3ST) - enjoys interacting with people - enjoys caravan and motor home holidaying - is available to be on call via the phone to deal with customers whilst you are at home in the evenings - can easily be at Willowbank 1-4 nights a week for an hour and half (7.30pm to 9pm) to walkaround - is happy to check the toilets and give them a light clean and heavy clean if needed - can provide holiday cover when a staff member is away including this Christmas and New Year - is tech-savvy enough to remotely operate a laptop/mobile phone with the booking system, number plate recognition, CCTV and intercom - is practical minded and willing to have a go at fixing whatever is needed - is calm under pressure and has a sense of humour For the right person, this is a dream job. If you know someone that fits the bill, please tell them about it. Pay has two components: The first part is for work "on standby from home" where you are at home engaging in your personal activities but you are available to deal with a call from a customer. This is from 5pm-8am and pays for 1 hour of time each day. On many evenings - particularly in low season - there will be no calls at all. The second part is for when you are "on a call" or "on site". Both of these pay for the time spent in full. For example, for each call you answer and deal with, 15 minutes of pay is paid (a call does not usually take that long but each call pays for 15 minutes (or more if it is longer). For on site visits, which is 90 minutes for 1-4 days a week in Spring and Summer, this is paid. The hourly rate is £14. In the high season (July to Sep), the number of hours per week is 10.5 hours to 13 hours per week (£147 to £182 per week) made up of: - On standby from home: 3-4 hours per week (Monday 1 hour (alternate Mondays); Tuesday 1 hour; Wednesday 1 hour; Saturday 1 hour) - On call from home: 1 hour per week (One 15 minute call per night (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu)) - On site walkaround and toilet clean: (6.5-8 hours per week ( Mon 1.5 hours (alternate Mondays), Tuesday (1.5 hours), Wednesday (1.5 hours), Saturday (1.5 hours) Willowbank Holiday Park is on the Coastal Road at Ainsdale. We have a beautiful tree-lined entrance with a relaxed atmosphere. We have tourers visiting in caravans and motor homes and we have holiday home owners who own their static caravans. **It is essential that you live close to Willowbank Holiday Park because it is a requirement that you can be at the park within 10 minutes of a phone call.** You will be joining a team that enjoys what we do and who like to smile and chat and help customers. We are open to a variety of experience and backgrounds. It is essential that you are comfortable working with computers and the remote management systems that we have. -------------- - Here is more detail on the responsibilities of the role: RESPONSIBILITY 1 ————————— **ON CALL IF A CUSTOMER NEEDS REMOTE HELP (AT HOME)** **can engage in personal activities at home** **5pm-8am** Throughout the year (January to December) On these days of the week: - Monday - alternate (i.e. Mon 5 May, Mon 19 May, Mon 2 Jun.) - Tuesday - Wednesday - Saturday Examples of remote help to customer: - Customer stuck at the tourer entrance barrier because their number plate is not recognised. Chat remotely via the intercom system to say hello to them, add their number plate remotely to the system if needed and then remotely lift the entrance barrier - Customer has a problem with the electricity on their pitch and presses the “On call” button at Reception. This diverts to the on call operator who talks to the customer about the problem and tries to resolve remotely (e.g. telling the customer where to find an electric lead extension). If cannot be dealt with remotely, an ad hoc onsite visit is needed to resolve (see below) During the Spring and Summer between 5-9pm, there can be one or two remote calls per evening from customers that can be resolve remotely. But there are evenings where there is nothing. In low season, frequently no calls at all after 5pm. After 9pm, it is rare to ever get any calls. It requires someone who is tech-savvy enough to work with a laptop and phone to access remotely the number plate recognition system, the intercom system, CampManager booking system and the CCTV. RESPONSIBILITY 2 ————————— **WALKAROUND AND LIGHT CLEAN OF TOILETS (ON SITE)** **needs to visit Willowbank, walk around, chat to customers, clean toilets** **7.30pm-9pm** **On these days of the week**: Spring ——— - Apr - every Saturday + holiday cover May - every Saturday + holiday cover (Fri 30 May, Sat 31 May) Jun - every Saturday + holiday cover (Sun 1 Jun) High season —————— - Jul - every Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday + alternate Mond
