We're looking to recruit an experienced and committed support worker to join our small team in East London. Our Home provides care and support to 5 young women age 13/14 years upwards. We strive to create an environment that is nurturing and therapeutic.

The role of the support worker is to ensure the young people we look after are safeguarded and cared for in an environment that encourages positive change. Our aim is to provide emotional support, life skills and positive experiences that prompting the young women to develop their full potential and become grounded young adults.

**JOB SPEC**

**The applicant**: Applicants should have a minimum of one year experience of working with vulnerable young people in a residential setting. You should have an awareness and understanding of how childhood trauma impacts young people, in particularly those passing through the care system. You should have good communication skills (both written and verbal), the ability to prepare reports and legible handwriting. You should have IT skills and a flexible approach. You should be a good team player.

The job includes; attending meetings, report writing, maintaining daily logs, 1:1 discussions with young people, liaison with external agencies and professionals, good written and verbal communications skills, ability to use Word documents and good housekeep skills.

Qualification; Level 3 qualification in youth studies (or equivalent)

A current enhanced DBS certificate is required.

**Applicants are required ;**To have the ability and willingness to work a shift rota which includes weekends, sleep in and waking night duties. The service operates a 7 day week ( Sunday to Saturday). Our shifts are 12hrs. A full time post is equivalent to 3 (12hr) shifts.

Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure certificate.

Pay: From £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
