Dartford, United Kingdom PrimeVR - Virtual Reality for Schools Full time

THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR THE RIGHT PERSON. PLEASE READ THE FULL JOB DESCRIPTION BEFORE APPLYING.

This is a rewarding job working in different schools across Kent, Essex, East Sussex, Hertfordshire and parts of London. We bring the school curriculum to life using Virtual Reality (VR) and we inspire primary school children by bringing their topics to life.

**About PrimeVR**

PrimeVR was founded in 2017 by a qualified teacher and has grown to become the UK’s leading VR workshop company for schools. Our workshops are a great way of bringing the national curriculum to life. We can blast pupils into space, drop them into the rainforest and even take them to the depths of the ocean. Over the past five years, we have visited over 1,000 schools across the UK, delivering more than 15 different topics and we’ve inspired over 100,000 children using VR. PrimeVR has now reached an exciting chapter and is ready to expand its workshops further across the UK.

Over the past five years, we have gained a reputation for delivering inspiring and educationally driven workshops. This has only been possible through our professional and friendly team who have amassed more than two hundred 5* reviews through Google, Trustpilot and Facebook.

**About the role**

Our leaders need to be enthusiastic, friendly and professional at all times to ensure that children and teachers have an exceptional experience delivered by PrimeVR. Although our VR headsets provide a real ‘wow’ experience, it’s our workshop leaders that are responsible for creating a safe learning environment.

**Key characteristics**

In order to join the PrimeVR team, you must be:

- **An excellent communicator. **You will be responsible for inspiring primary school children, specifically KS2 (age 7-11).
- **Organised, punctual and reliable.** It’s a huge effort for schools to book workshops and invite external visitors onsite. Risk assessments, permission slips and logistics take a lot of planning for schools. It’s our responsibility to ensure we are on time, and that we know what we are doing by delivering an experience above and beyond expectations.
- **Hardworking and motivated.** A typical day in a school starts at 9am and finishes at 3pm but you must operate at 100% during this time. If you’re despondent, tired or not ‘feeling it’, this will rub off on the children in your workshop.
- **Willing to learn.** You don’t need to be a rocket scientist but you need to be willing to learn how to setup and manage the equipment. Once you've been shown a few times how it works, it usually becomes second nature. Secondly, it's important that you are willing to learn the workshop content. We provide a full guide for each topic but it's down to you to learn and familiarise yourself with this.

**Responsibilities**
- Commuting and driving to schools in your area. Workshop leaders are not obliged to accept bookings and travel commitments can be discussed during the interview process.
- Arrive at the school in good time (usually 9am), set up our VR headsets, deliver four to six inspiring workshops across the school day and finish by 3.30pm. Start and finish times may vary slightly depending on the school.
- Manage and maintain PrimeVR’s equipment, ensuring the headsets are always cleaned and charged after a school booking. You will also be responsible for the safety of the equipment. This will include ensuring that schools adhere to our terms and conditions and that PrimeVR’s insurance policy is met regarding storing the equipment.
- Provide feedback and a summary of the day to the CEO.

**Requirements**:

- A full UK driving license with access to a car.
- A willingness to travel across your area, with potential drives up to 2 hours. Open to staying overnight is also a bonus. Travel commitments can be discussed in an initial call.
- Please be aware that schools usually book a workshop day months in advance (sometimes up to 6 months) and so we ask that if you agree to a booking, you commit to delivering this day (unless an alternative team member can be found).

**Benefits**
- £130 - £170 day rate depending on experience, plus expenses
- 0.45p/mile travel expenses, outside of a 20-mile travel radius
- Overnight accommodation and meal allowance provided if required
- Flexible hours
- Casual work dress

**Information to declare about this role**
- This is a freelance/self-employed role. Due to the nature of our business, we cannot guarantee work and so this role would suit someone looking for a flexible working arrangement.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Freelance
Part-time hours: 0-18 per week

**Salary**: £130.00-£170.00 per day
