Fundraising Assistant

As a Fundraising Assistant, you'll provide high-quality administrative and operational support to the four Principal Gift Directors within the Development and Alumni Relations Office.
You'll help ensure smooth coordination across their busy portfolios, organising meetings and travel, supporting donor engagement, preparing materials and briefings, and maintaining accurate records. You'll also play a key part in delivering exceptional experiences for our most significant supporters, working closely with colleagues across the University and with international partners such as Cambridge in America.
It's a role for someone who's detail-oriented, adaptable, and motivated by meaningful work, someone who takes pride in supporting others to succeed.
**What you'll do**
- Provide efficient diary, meeting, and travel coordination for the Principal Gift Directors.
- Prepare and proofread correspondence, reports, and briefings for donor and stakeholder meetings.
- Support donor engagement by helping to plan visits, events, and follow-up communications.
- Maintain accurate information in fundraising systems to track interactions and outcomes.
- Liaise professionally with senior colleagues, academics, donors, and external partners.
- Assist with finance processes such as expenses and purchase orders.
- Contribute to wider team projects and process improvements.
**About you**
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A confident, professional manner and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Competence with Microsoft Office and an aptitude for learning new systems (experience with fundraising databases is a plus).
- A collaborative, proactive approach, you enjoy being part of a team and take initiative to get things done.
- An interest in higher education or philanthropy would be welcomed, though not essential.
