2x Band 7 Substance Misuse Prescribing Practitioners are required by North Bristol NHS Trust, one of the largest hospital trusts in the UK. You will be based at Southmead Hospital - one of the most modern new built hospitals in Europe. You would be part of a dynamic new Drug team, who will join the established Alcohol team to come under the umbrella of the Lead Addictions Nurse at NBT as part of the Drug and Alcohol Recovery Care Team.

Along with the Lead Nurse you will have a key role in developing the new service and embedding the team at NBT. You will have a commitment and passion to improve care pathways for patients with a history of illicit drug use. The role will involve developing guidelines and carving out new pathways from Hospital into community to improve wrap around care provision for patients. You will be committed to improving safety around OST prescribing and adapt a consultative liaison approach to developing the skills and knowledge of the NBT workforce as well as directly delivering patient care.

You will be joining an established alcohol care team to create a new drug and alcohol recovery care team. We run a SMART recovery patient support group weekly as well as out patient clinics, a patient ART group and we have a small team allotment on site. On Fridays we have a whole team handover breakfast where we reflect on our week and provide informal peer support. We are a very busy team but we recognise the value of spending time together and learning from each other. Every year we have a team away day where we write our annual report which reflects on and celebrates our year as a team.
