1WTE Principle Counselling/Clinical Psychologist - Service Lead Camden Parents’ Wellbeing Service (Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated 1 WTE clinical/counselling psychologist with experience of team management and systemic practice, to lead manage Camden Parents’ Wellbeing Service (CPWS - a parental mental health service in Camden), and to provide psychological interventions to parents in Camden.

Camden Parents’ Wellbeing Service was established in 2006 in acknowledgement of the adverse impact of poor parental mental health upon children’s wellbeing. The team has historically worked with the parents of children known to the local CAMHS who were identified as having mental health needs, and with parents identified through adult mental health services, children’s centres, and other local authority agencies. Camden Parents’ Wellbeing Service is a small virtual team of psychologists offering psychological therapy interventions to individual parents and co-parenting couples, in a range of different settings. The team works to raise awareness of the profile of parental mental health through consultations, training and supervision.

The potholder will work across multiple locations within Camden borough and will provide clinic-based and home visit interventions to parents in Camden.

Preference for working days to include Wednesdays and Thursdays to maximise overlap with other team members.

There may also be opportunity for extending session time for this role in the future.

By coming to work at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust you will be joining a Trust with a national reputation for research, where services recognise that research underpins its commitment to providing high quality and innovative clinical care. Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust is excited to be part of the development of new Clinical Associate Psychologists (CAP) roles in the UK.
