Group Innovation Lead

Here at Serco, we are recruiting for a Group Innovation Lead to join our team to support the Innovation Director with the delivery of the Impact Pilots, Impact Pathway, and Impact Partner programmes to drive technology adoption, innovation, and strategic partnering across the Group as well as supporting the Group strategy and growth team with global data and insight to support revenue and profit growth.

As our Group Innovation Lead, you will be responsible for three key areas including market research, project delivery, and data and insight analytics. You will conduct desktop market research using public resources and Pitchbook on potential Impact Partners, Serco’s competitors, and market opportunities where Serco could deploy Impact Pilots or technology innovation. Once identified, you will support the Innovation Director with sourcing, interviewing, and completing due diligence on potential Impact Partners, often start up technology companies.

You will effectively lead project management of the Impact Pilots ensuring they are delivered in line with their success criteria, budget, and timelines, as well as managing the delivery of the Impact Pathway Toolkit whilst engaging with external consultants to deliver the Impact Pathway discovery process with strategic accounts. You will be able to develop strong professional relationships with venture capitalists, universities, technology companies, and start-ups across all Divisions in the Group to build the profile of the Impact Pilot programmes and Serco’s innovation agenda. You will work closely with the Innovation Director on the data analysis relating to Serco’s impact metrics for the themes People, Place, and Planet as well as other data analytics requirements as part of the general support for the strategy and growth team.

**What you’ll need to do the role**: Strong strategical, analytical, and operational skills combined with an excellent standard of execution and delivery. Passion for technology and start-ups and their ability to drive innovation in business. Demonstrated experience of self-governing workstream management including owning end-to-end project and process management and managing cross functional stakeholder relationships. Confident experience in developing content for and presenting to senior stakeholders, up to c-suite level. Strong MS Office Skills, particularly MS Excel and Power BI. Proven experience of conducting market research and data analysis. Effective communication and negotiation skills.
