**Description**:Production Operative(B)

**Job Purpose**:
To produce (and where appropriate, package) disinfectant products to the agreed specification sheet to International Standard (ISO 9001).

To maintain a “Good Manufacturing Practice” throughout the department at all times.

**Main Activities**:
As a Production operative, you'll need to:

- To ensure the equipment runs to an agreed standard of speed/cleanliness/quality.
- Highlight to Supervision/Engineering/Quality Management (as appropriate) if this is not possible.
- To meet product manufacturing deadlines set out by the Production Controller.
- To be present and ready to begin manufacturing at the start of each shift.
- Comply with paperwork requirements for the area; this includes (but is not limited to): Production paperwork, Training Records, In-Process Checks.
- Act as runner when requiring new or additional components in order to avoid “waiting” time.
- To be aware of and comply with the safety requirements of the dept. This includes (but is not limited to) the wearing of correct PPE, adherence to the Fire Procedure, understanding of the depts “COSHH”.
- To contribute fully to any improvements/changes/projects that are being considered.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, required for basic operational tasks.
- Work in all areas of the manufacturing process.
- Operating the Forklift and moving goods around the premises as required.

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.

**Desirable Qualifications**:

- Forklift Truck Licence (Advantage but not essential as Training can be given).
- Manual Handling Training.
- Understanding of COSHH.

**Essential Experience**:

- Experience in working within a team.

**Desirable Experience**:

- Minimum of one year experience in working within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience of stock control / materials.

**Skills**:

- Good Numeracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work to procedures.
- Positive attitude to work and helpful to others.
- Happy to take instruction and learn from others.
- Ability to work under supervision and maintain the required ISO standards.

**Desirable**:

- Understand technical processes.
- Good keyboard skills - Ability to use Excel and Microsoft Office.

**Essential circumstances**:

- Able to work overtime on occasions.
