Help us, alongside the Manager and Deputy Manager, to maintain our Outstanding expectations and implementations, put in place to enhance the learning of children aged 6 months-4.
Wonder Haven is a new, close-knit, wholesome and captivating home away from home, catering to max 36 children at any given time across 3 classrooms. Our mission is to inspire, wow and feed young minds, with direction from the EYFS. We have created a nurturing and wondrous environment, both indoors and outdoors, to enrich the experiences of those at an Early Years age.
Passionate - children can sense when care is shown towards them. Are you passionate enough to ensure that all the children’s needs are catered to?
Approachable - everyone likes a friendly face and a good ear to feel heard
Confident - not afraid to challenge decisions where you see fit and call out what you deem as not right
Organised - ensuring that the running of the nursery school is smooth
Positive - this word speaks for itself, but having an optimistic approach to things in general is appreciated
Firm but fair - sometimes hard decisions have to be made and some people may need speaking to. Having a calm but to-the-point tone is very important and giving fair warnings are greatly appreciated
Helpful skills and knowledge:
- Safeguarding knowledge
- First Aid
- A thorough understanding of the EYFS (from September 2021)
- An understanding of allergies/dietary requirements
- The ability to accept criticism and work well under pressure
- Leadership skills
- Sensitivity and understanding
- Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- The ability to work on your own
- To be able to use a computer and the main software packages competently
You will be responsible for:
- Liaising with the Manager and Deputy Manager on a daily basis and filling in for them when they are off site/having non contact time
- To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care and development for children placed in the nursery.
- Any tasks delegated by the Manager/Deputy Manager.
- Giving support to other personnel within the nursery.
- Having a sound knowledge of all Company policies, procedures, statutory welfare requirements and Ofsted expectations and requirements, and to ensure that these are maintained at all times
- Being a key teacher, having no more than 4 key children
We require for you to have a Level 3 Childcare Qualification or Above to be suitable for this role.
Ideally, we’d like for our Third in Charge to have had two full academic year’s experience in working in childcare, however this is not mandatory.
We are completely committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children & young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS clearance, identity checks, qualification checks and two satisfactory references.
