**We are looking for a Dayshift Mechanic to join our busy Engineering Department at one of our City Garages**
This is a permanent role for a fully qualified mechanic with experience. You will be working 4 days over 7 dayshift**,** 37 hours per week.
**What will you be doing?**
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all types of vehicles to Lothian & DVSA standards
- Diagnose and rectify all types of faults, mechanical and electrical
- Use diagnostic equipment and software to locate, diagnose and rectify faults on mechanical and electrical components
- Understand the fundamentals of existing and emerging mechanical and electrical designs and systems
- Attending vehicle breakdowns as and when required
- Liaise with the parts department to obtain correct parts
- Ensure health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
- Ensure all paperwork and inspection sheets are completed in a timely manner
- Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses as required
**Who are we looking for?**
- You must possess a full UK driving licence
- You must be a time served motor vehicle mechanic
- A PCV licence is desirable, however the ability to obtain a PCV licence whilst in our employment is essential
- An aptitude to develop others within the engineering team to improve efficiencies
- Ability to work under pressure and work as part of a team
- A flexible approach to working hours
- Experience of working in the truck or bus industry would be advantageous
