**Job Summary**

To provide an effective and efficient customer service to all customers, primarily through better planning, tracking and reporting. Safe, compliant and efficient running of transport scheduling and drivers, de-brief of drivers to ensure compliance of driving hours and WTD (Working Time Directive).

**Key Responsibilities**
- Proactively support and embed a generative safety culture whilst actively seeking to improve this
- Liaising with drivers, dealing with day-to-day operational issues as they arise, with the ability to quickly evaluate situations and re-plan vehicles to cover prebooked work as required.
- Complete the debrief process within the allocated time and report any necessary actions or updates as required.
- Reporting all safety concerns or container damage and encouraging ‘stop the job’ is implemented if it is deemed unsafe to continue in line with company operating procedures and processes.
- Ensure legal compliance - WTD and Transport compliance.
- Liaise with customers, book and log jobs, organise drivers & vehicles and assist the Transport Manager with all daily tasks required.
- Liaising with site on container / space availability.
- Administration of near miss/safe acts on behalf of drivers
- Deal with defects, VOR's, required call outs etc.
- Responsible for daily transport and driver co-ordination to fulfil HiPod/Waste Recovery Park customer and contract requirements,
- Overall coordination and direction of HiPod process and collection of packaged / tankered wastes including the acceptance, recording and monitoring of requirements, provision of relevant documentation and resource provision/allocation, levels of the correct PPE and, equipment to cover off the contractual obligations.
- Administration of Hipod Service including monthly invoicing.
- Administration of Purchase Orders for Transport - including inspections / repairs.
- Ensure regular process audits are carried out to measure and ensure highest levels of process compliance and visibility of Hipod processes.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with customer base through acting as first point of contact for the assessment and delivery of customer requirements in respect of offsite work and transport carried out through the Paisley site.
- Identify and implement improvement programmes where potential issues have been found on day-to-day activities, near miss, safer acts or through any other business activity.
- Support the Commercial Managers to develop new and existing customer services which are efficient and effective each time.
- Develop processes to ensure that all team members can execute their duties effectively and efficiently.
- Any other reasonable duties as and when required

**Qualifications**
- CPC for Transport Manager - Road Haulage - (desirable)
- A good level of education
- A working knowledge of Excel/Word

- Driving legislation and transport regulations
- Planning and management of a transport fleet
- Professional manner with the ability to liaise with customers
- Good telephone manner
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Enthusiastic and flexible approach to work
- Self-Motivated
- Good communicator at all levels.
- Experienced with MS Office skills including Word, Excel,
- Proven operational and commercial skills with an ability to identify and mitigate risks.

- Strong organizational and planning skills with a proven ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.

- Full UK driving licence.
