An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to join our Clinical Health Psychology Department as part of the Northern Care Alliance. The role is based at Salford Royal Hospital.
The Assistant Psychologist will support the team in the provision of psychological care to patients/clients across a number of different specialist teams within the Clinical Health Psychology Department (including but not limited to: Gastro, Renal, Weight Management, CFS and Long Covid).
This post will mainly involve supporting the work of the Gastrointestinal and Renal psychology services and involve working alongside our Expert by Experience Patient Group. There may be scope for gaining experience in other specialities within the wider Clinical Health Psychology Department.
All work will be carried out under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist and will involve assessment, intervention, and indirect methods of working such as teaching/training.
The post holder will also assist in clinically related administration, audit and research as well as playing a significant role in supporting the work of the Departments Expert by Experience Patient Group (EEPG).
Work with patients suffering from a range of medical/surgical conditions as part of the clinical health psychology team
A range of activities including providing psychological therapy for patients, co-facilitating psycho-educational groups, data analysis, literature reviews, data collection and audit.
