Poole, United Kingdom Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Have you considered a career in Forensic Nursing? Would you like to work in a fast developing Forensic Service with plans to expand its inpatient and community services? We offer a £2,000 recruitment and retention premium* and up to £5,000 in re-location expenses.

The Twynham Low Secure Unit based within St Ann’s Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Team Leader to join the team.

Twynham Low Secure Unitis a 12 bedded male forensic unit that provides a high level of effective and compassionate care. We aim to promote a calm and therapeutic approach in a low stimulus environment where our patients are supported by a friendly, skilled and enthusiastic team that enables them to move forwards with their recovery.

Clinical Team Leaders undertake a dual clinical and leadership role; acting as a deputy for the Ward Manager. They play a key role in the day-to-day management of the ward; are a main point of contact for advice/decisions and will support, supervise and manage staff. They also assist in the delivery of local and nationally required outcomes and will often be given a lead role to manage in their own right.

We would welcome an applicant where this may be your first leadership role. The successful applicant will be supported closely by the ward manager and wider team who will provide a comprehensive induction programme for a Clinical Team Leader joining Twynham Low Secure Unit.

All staff are expected to work a shift pattern to cover the needs of the service 24/7, which will consist of Early, Late and Night shifts.

This is a great opportunity to take your next step into a leadership role and demonstrate your knowledge and abilities, whilst continually improving services and providing hands on care.

**In return we will offer you**:

- Development opportunities dependent on your interests e.g. psychological therapies, physical health training
- Access to the trusts leadership course to develop your leadership skills
- Trust induction and local induction
- Clinical and management supervision
- Opportunity to develop our service through quality improvement projects
- Annual leave - up to 33 days plus bank holidays (dependant on NHS service)
- NHS pension
- NHS discount and salary sacrifice scheme
- Not forgetting our unique selling point - our Trust beach huts located along the famous Sandbanks coastline.

You will be required to undertake aPrevention and Management of Violence and Aggressioncourse and it is a condition of your employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £40 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.

Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.
