Internal Opportunity
The main purpose of this post is to hold a small complex caseload of children, young people, and families who are being supported by the Families First Team alongside their allocated Social Worker.
About the role
This post will be based in our Families First team which is an ‘invest to save’ project meaning success will be based upon the positive outcomes for the children and young people plus the monies saved by the children and young people staying within or returning to the family as opposed to requiring costly foster or residential placements. The Families First team supports children, young people and their families when there is an imminent risk of them being taken into care or the need to reunify children and young people back into their families from care.
- The post will be required to plan, coordinate and deliver targeted support for families, children, and young people by sourcing community and family support and leading on Signs of Safety Family Network meetings.
- The post will also require direct work with carers and children; attending multidisciplinary meetings such as child protection conferences and multi-agency risk panels; contributing through your case recording to the monitoring and reporting of team performance and contributing to service audit activity; and to the development of the service as a whole.
About you
We are looking for an innovative, positive, dedicated worker who will help us to transform the lives and futures of children & young people on the “Edge of Care”.
You will need to be passionate about working with Children, Young people and their families and have a reassuring presence, be calm in a crisis and able to work with families in their homes, helping them make the necessary changes to stay together. You will also need to be/have:
- Educated to a level 4 qualification in a relevant field i.e. Early Years, Social Care Education, Criminal Justice, Family Support/Parenting or equivalent by demonstrable training and experience
- Trained to deliver evidence based parenting interventions.
- Experience of working with vulnerable or disadvantaged families with complex needs and ability to design, implement and evaluate interventions that deliver positive outcomes
Important Information
**Internal start dates**: Start dates will be agreed once all pre-transfer checks are completed. The usual transfer date will be in line with employees contracts unless agreement is reached between the existing and new line manager
