We are looking for a number of Consultant Anaesthetists to join our established team. The posts are resulting from a mixture of replacement and phased service developments, in particular there is the exciting opportunity to be part of the development of the Neath Port Talbot site into a centre of excellence for orthopaedic and spinal surgery.
We have over 70 Consultant Anaesthetists delivering excellent clinical services in a range of specialities including regional and tertiary services. These posts will also help support the expansion of the range of services we currently offer, which include development of a new Thoracic Centre for South Wales, Post Anaesthetic Care Units to facilitate the Theatres redesign and modernisation programme and the COVID recovery programme. The Department offers many varied opportunities to capture most career aspirations within Anaesthetics including the EMRTS air ambulance service hosted by Swansea Bay, perioperative medicine, the Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastics and Cardiothoracic tertiary services. Research and Development and teaching are fundamental to the service a result of close working links with Swansea University Medical School, currently ranked 4th in the UK.
