The HR Team in Workforce and Organisational Development are looking to recruit a highly experienced, enthusiastic HR generalist to become a key member of their team.

The principal requirements of this role will require the postholder to autonomously oversee a caseload of employee relations cases with opportunities to participate and contribute to the delivery of the health board’s people plan. You will provide expert advice to Managers and Senior Leaders on a range of Workforce matters as a key member of the Operational HR Team. In doing so you will ensure that the legal position of the Health Board is not compromised.

You will develop and deliver management training to ensure that managers are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to compassionately manage teams. You will be committed to continuously improving people practices, independently and working as part of a team.

You will analyse workforce performance data and identify areas for improvement working closely with Divisional Managers and Workforce Business Partners. You will develop actions aimed at improving performance, recruitment and retention with compassionate, person centred practices.

You will be self-driven, professional in your approach and cognisant with all aspect of Windows and Microsoft Software. You will provide coaching, supervision and support to junior members of the team.

To provide, with mínimal supervision, a comprehensive HR service to managers and staff within the Health Board. To contribute to the development and delivery of operational and strategic objectives, in line with the HR plan, to support the delivery of patient care.

Operational Responsibility
- To provide high calibre proactive HR expertise to resolve and support operational HR issues including preparation of evidence and legally based argument, ensuring that the legal position of the Trust is not compromised and advising managers accordingly.
- Provides expert advice on individual and collective employee relations issues and Health Board policies and procedures including disciplinary, harassment/bullying, redeployment and capability issues to ensure effective resolution and to promote a positive and harmonious approach to employee relations across the Health Board.
- To provide effective advice and support to managers to resolve contentious issues and conflict situations in a sensitive and pragmatic manner.
- To provide HR advice to managers and staff through the Complex HR Helpdesk, taking responsibility for examining the consistency of the advice in line with the latest legislation and best practice.
- To design, deliver and evaluate training and development interventions in response to organisational and service specific needs.
- Develop, implement and communicate identified policies, procedures and practices in order to support operational HR management within the Health Board.
- Facilitate consultation and negotiation with Trust staff and representatives of recognised Trade Unions in a constructive and positive way on a variety of HR issues as appropriate.
- Prioritise, plan and manage work and resources, including people and time, effectively to deliver outputs in line with Health Board and departmental objectives.
