Interpreting and Cultural Insight Engagement Officer

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Interpreting and Cultural Insight Team in the role of Engagement Officer. This is a new role focused on working directly with patients and families with cultural and language needs and supporting them to navigate through the healthcare system and ensure successful participation and engagement with medical teams.
An experienced Interpreter, engaging with staff at all levels across the Trust and families to improve communication and understanding of healthcare systems and services. The Cultural Engagement Officer will use patient databases to assess needs across the Trust and take referrals from staff to form an intervention plan.
Working with clinical teams and senior members of staff, the Cultural Engagement Officer will use their significant NHS experience to attend challenging and demanding cases. Able to work autonomously and demonstrate high levels of emotional resilience to represent the service, the Cultural Engagement Officer will be responsive to the complexities of issues related to culture and language barriers that impact on patient experience.
An advocate for equality, diversity, and inclusion, working with the Patient Experience Team to ensure patient feedback is collected through the Trusts Friends and Family Test, patient stories and case studies.
