We have an exciting opportunity within the North West Prison service, where you will join our friendly and inspiring team as a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.

Your role will be in a permanent position working full time 37.5 hours per week, with your working week split between the university and your base at HMP Lancaster Farms, although there will be opportunities to work into HMP Kirkham and HMP Preston as well.

The post holder will be given a full package of support to work through this programme, leading to a recognised Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner qualification after 12 months.

You will carry out your clinical work face to face within the prison / secure environment. You will also have the opportunity to work in one or more of our prisons mentioned above or other similar services.

**What will you be doing?**

You will be supporting someone in their daily activities and helping them lead a fulfilling life, this can involve;
Successfully complete all requirements of the 12 month Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner programme at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan)
- Work within an integrated mental health team in a prison setting or IRC to provide high quality support in line with Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Principles
- Accept and assess referrals within agreed protocols of the service
- Work seamlessly with the wider mental health and prison or IRC service teams to provide high quality, safe and effective care
- Attend multi disciplinary meetings, upholding organisation values and clinical best practice guidelines

**Do you have what we are looking for?**
- Able to work towards, and successfully complete the job specific PWP University Course including all the academic components of this
- Experience of working with people with mental health or wellbeing problems
- Understanding of the IAPT model and how anxiety and depression-based disorders may present in a primary care setting
- Effectiveness as a team player, with a positive and solution focussed attitude who is flexible and willing to learn in order to thrive in the role
- Engagement with supervision effectively to support wellbeing and performance, responding positively when provided with constructive feedback
- Promotion of diversity, inclusion and respect in all aspects of the role, recognising the value of each individual’s life circumstances and journey
