European Transport Planner

My client has been in business for over 50 years, specialising in general haulage and employ 300 people across 3 sites. With a fleet of 95 vehicles/ 150 trailers and further plans to expand this is a great role for someone who is seeking an opportunity where they can progress in the future.

**Duties include**
- Supervise and plan all relevant customer deliveries utilising the software available at site to ensure delivery windows are met
- Plan vehicles as close to maximum capacity and time parameters as possible therefore ensuring full efficiency of the vehicles
- Manage drivers’ hours and days off for the European driver fleet
- Organise international backloads with customers and drivers
- Ensure trailers are in place to meet customer booking times
- All relevant documents and driver packs are completed on time and in full
- Monitor driver progress whilst in Europe, liaising with the customer on ETA and bookings
- Keep up to date on all changes to legislation and restrictions to ensure business and driver compliance
- Monitor routes and timings to ensure the most cost effective routes are taken and journey times are not exceeded
- To appropriately challenge any discrepancies in journey times and routes
- To ensure all trailers and units are presented for planned maintenance on time
- Conduct incident investigations and reporting in relation to any damaged freight within agreed format and timelines
- Ensure vehicle earnings are greater than vehicle costs to achieve a healthy margin as decreed by the Line Manager
- Ensure all loads meet safety standards
- Communicate routes to and liaise with other Depots / Sites
- Source and plan backloads to avoid vehicle empty running

**Working hours Monday - Friday 09.00 - 18.00**

**Salary**: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
