Clinical Lead for Cyp Integration
The Children and Young People’s Transformation Programme was established in 2019 to oversee the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan commitments for children and young people (CYP).
More recently, the government set out its ambition to raise the healthiest generation of children in our history. To achieve this ambition we need to make substantial changes to the services children use to improve children’s health outcomes.
Once such change is to shift the NHS to a model where more services are delivered in local communities, integrating health and care services to improve the treatment patients receive with more care delivered outside hospitals.
The CYP Transformation Programme are developing plans to implement Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs) for CYP which will embed specialist paediatric expertise into primary and community settings, integrating with wider health, care and education through multi-disciplinary teams.
The programme works closely with the Royal College for Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH).
We are seeking a Clinical Lead for Integration to provide expert clinical advice to the programme and specifically support the development of integrated neighbourhood teams for CYP.
The postholder will work closely with the CYP Transformation Programme team, NHS England National Clinical Directors and Medical Directors to provide clinical advice and leadership including:
Clinical advice and leadership to drive transformation of services for patients and implementation of INTs for CYP.
Clinical advice to support the commissioning of services; and
Clinical advice on ad hoc issues to support parliamentary accountability.
The post holder will provide clinical leadership and advice to support the programme SRO, National Clinical Director and work with the National Speciality Advisors in the successful delivery of the INTs for CYP programme. This includes influencing policy development and implementation, securing key stakeholder buy-in, promoting the NHS and acting as a spokesperson for NHS England.
The clinical lead for Integration will provide input into other clinical leads across the organisation in their specialty (e.g. GIRFT leads, CRG chairs) to ensure all parts of the organisation are pulling in the same direction.
**Contractual arrangements**:
FTC/Secondment until 31 March 25 with the possibility of extension
Part time / 0.1 FTE / 1 PA per week
The NHS England board have set out the top-level purpose for the new organisation to lead the NHS in England to deliver high-quality services for all, which will inform the detailed design work and we will achieve this purpose by:
Enabling local systems and providers to improve the health of their people and patients and reduce health inequalities.
Making the NHS a great place to work, where our people can make a difference and achieve their potential.
Working collaboratively to ensure our healthcare workforce has the right knowledge, skills, values and behaviours to deliver accessible, compassionate care
Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation
Delivering value for money.
Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher. You can find more information on the Government website.
The Clinical Lead for CYP Integration will provide clinical advice for NHS England’s major programmes of work, with a focus on the INTs for CYP programme. They will work with programme SRO, the National Clinical Director, Clinical leads for other workstreams and other stakeholders to develop and deliver the programme’s ambitions improving the quality and value of healthcare services and ensuring programmes are clinically focused and credible.
The Clinical Lead for CYP Integration will be responsible for the provision of high-quality clinical advice to drive the ambitions and priorities for CYP and improve their health and outcomes:
Working across teams in NHS England, with ICBs and external stakeholders to provide clinical leadership and expertise with a focus on the INTs for CYP agenda.
