Joining us as **Recycling Operative** on a **full-time, fixed-term contract, covering a period of maternity leave for a period of up to 12 months**, you will earn a competitive salary and a host of great benefits, including:

**What you’ll be doing as Recycling Operative**
Our Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs) are plants where materials like paper, cardboard, cans and bottles are sorted from tipped waste and sent on elsewhere to be recycled. You'll play an important role in the smooth, safe and clean operation of the MRF by:

- Inspecting loads being tipped and completing reports when non-compliant waste is identified
- Directing vehicles arriving on site to tip waste
- Checking outgoing waste like paper and card bales for quality purposes
- Wearing correct personal protective equipment (PPE) and working to safe operating procedures

**What we're looking for in our Recycling Operative**:

- A basic understanding of the waste industry, ideally with experience of working in a recycling processing plant
- Traffic management training (not essential as training provided)
- Good timekeeping and attendance record
- Basic computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel
- Ability to work safely in a busy and noisy environment

**Working hours**: An average of 44.75 hours, Mon-Fri from 7am-4pm, plus every other Saturday morning from 7am-11.30am, though flexibility may be required.
