**Job Description
As the Senior dosimetrist you will have the opportunity to contribute to the day to day operation of all aspects of treatment planning activities at both UCH and Guy’s sites. We will also offer you the support and training to become locally competent inall areas within treatment planning. You will also have the chance to be part of a multidisciplinary team to implement novel and routine radiotherapy techniques into clinical use.

**Duties & Responsibilities
- To be trained and become competent in all treatment planning techniques offered by London Radiotherapy Centres at Guy’s and UCH.
- To work with clinical oncologists to produce accurate and precise treatment plans by aiding their localisation of treatment volumes and organs at risk.To explain the resulting treatment set up, such that the clinician is able to approve the finished plan
- To interact and liaise with physicists, radiographers, clinical oncologists, nursing and clerical staff in a professional manner.
- To develop new treatment or dosimetry techniques where the need arises or best practice dictates.
- Provide scientific and technical advice to consultant Radiation Oncologists and other clinical staff regarding patient treatments and imaging.
- To develop and maintain departmental protocols in close collaboration with the staff of the Radiotherapy department.To ensure the department’s quality system is kept at a high standard, which meets national standards.
- To participate in the training of junior staff members or other members of department.
- Take responsibility for self-directed, self-initiated learning to ensure continuing development (CPD) is maintained.

**Skills & Experience
**Essential**
- B.Sc in science, engineering, radiography or medical physics technology.
- Experience of working in a clinical environment as a dosimetrist

**Desirable**
- HCPC registration
- Previous experience as a senior dosimetrist
- Experience of using Eclipse TPS
- Experience with total body irradiation (TBI)

**The London Radiotherapy Centre at Guy’s and St Thomas’**

Based at Guy’s Hospital, this facility offers fast access to private radiotherapy services for patients in London, the City and across Kent and the Home Counties. Just a stone’s throw from London Bridge Station, this convenient setting offers comprehensiveradiotherapy planning and treatment on one siteusing two TrueBeam linacs, Eclipse treatment planning system, dedicated GE CT scanner and AlignRT IGRT system.The role will be based mainly at this facility, although the team works jointly across London withthe HCA Healthcare UK team based at University College London, so therewillbecross-site working required.Both sites offer VMAT, SABR, DIBH, gating and TBI treatments
