**What we are looking for**

We are looking for a** Planning Enforcement Officer** to join our team in **Planning Enforcement.** You will share our **values**, commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities.

**About the role**

You will be working on a busy case load and will be tasked with carrying out inspections and assessing developments to ascertain breaches of planning legislation.

You will be advising customers of the appropriate course of action to resolve a breach and, when necessary, draft notices, collect evidence and prepare legal proceedings for action against offenders.

**About you**

You will need to hold a relevant degree or a Certificate in Planning Enforcement (or equivalent experience with transferable skills) and be able to demonstrate up-to-date and detailed knowledge and experience in the enforcement of planning law.

Knowledge of the law around the protection and conservation of listed buildings would also be desirable.

You will have a strong work ethic, possess good communication and report writing skills and will be keen and ambitious. You will need to be able to work well independently and as part of the team, and with mínimal supervision.

Excellent customer service skills will also be required. You will be required to make site visits in a large rural area and so will need to hold a driving licence and have a car.
